| José "Pepo" Saavedra José "Pepo" Saavedra has been developing his musical career as a guitarist and singer songwriter for the last fifteen years. Deeply rooted in the acoustic traditions of Latin American and world music genres, his music explores the possibilities of creating a tangible visual recreation of stories told through song. José has produced three albums: Ver Cada Ver, Versos ReVersos, Veredas Verdes, as well as scores for independent films related to human rights in the borderlands. "Even if you don't understand Spanish, José Saavedra Iguina's rich baritone and muscular though gentle guitar playing communicate a beauty unmatched. The Puerto Rico-born Saavedra, is a treasure " "a collection of songs that verge on being fired in the forge of, if not magical realism, a kind of humanistic mysticism." Tucson Weekly, Tucson, AZ "Jose culls folk tradition from both Latin America and English/US. He melds gorgeous vocal melodies with amazing finger picking guitar work. He accomplishes what all great songwriters should; conveying life's joys and pains, ups and downs, emotions and stories. Completely essential!" Downtown Tucsonan, Tucson, AZ.
